Sponsorship of Students to Secondary and Tertiary Education
Over the years we have sponsored many children into further education. The cost of sending a child to secondary school is surprisingly high when considering the monthly minimum wage. It is certainly a problem for the growing number of orphans.
We now support approximately 50 students at various levels of schooling.
Starting in 2007, we have changed the structure of the Student sponsorship and are now offering the opportunity for individuals to sponsor a student. The cost is $500 per year and this donation will go towards, school fees, boarding fees, uniform & shoes, school supplies, and transport to and from school. Sponsoring a student is an invaluable way to make a difference in someone’s life. All of the students we sponsor are from families that make their livings through subsistence farming, or are children who have been orphaned. The students are also the brightest in their classes!!
With the help of the headmasters, we select three girls and three boys from Grades 7 & 9 who will receive sponsorship. These students have passed crucial exams in the Zambia Education system and are generally selected to attend grades 8 & 10 at a boarding schools in Eastern province. We sponsor these students through to Grade 12, as long as they continue to show dedication toward their education.
It is $500 per year for student sponsorship
- School fees and boarding costs: $300 per year

- Uniform, shoes and other school supplies: $100 per year
